This incident took place at 9th Mile, Greenwood area this morning where a mother dog with 6 unweaned pups were shot by the local authorities with an overdosed tranquilizer and was taken away by threatening the house owner to open the gate. THEY BARGED into someone else’s property to take away a dog which CLEARLY HAS AN OWNER.
Her owner clarify that her dog would usually go out for a short morning walk and HAS NEVER BITTEN, BARK,CHASE OR SHOW SIGNS OF AGGRESSION TO ANYONE who passed by the neighbourhood area.
Unfortunately this morning, MPKS spot the mother dog roaming outside & shoot it right away with no consideration nor sympathy towards what they did to a completely innocent mother dog who is currently still breastfeeding 8 pups. After the dog was shot, she ran back into the house so the councils waited for the owner to open the gate for them to take the mother dog away. THAT STILL wasn’t enough for them so they TOOK ALL HER PUPPIES AWAY and threw them into the cage of the car trunk. They get rid of the mother dog by THROWING her inside a HUGE TIED UP PLASTIC BAG which she will then suffer a slow death with limited air inside.
Latest update: Kitty from SOS stated ALL 6 PUPPIES HAD ALREADY BEEN PUT DOWN BY DVS AS THEY REFUSED TO LET THEM GO. This is absolutely not okay and unacceptable. This has gone way too far and at this point, they’re just abusing their powers and if we kept quiet on this matter, THINGS WOULD GET SO MUCH WORST for all the stray animals out there. The fact that so many innocent lives are being taken away every single day broke my heart and watching the voiceless stray animals getting shot with a tranquilize dart when they bring no harm to anyone nor do they choose to be a stray in the first place shattered my heart into pieces. Is this the best we can do as a human being? Is this what we call humanity? I’m truly devastated and very disappointed with their ruthless actions. The owner has lodged a police report on this matter and hopefully, there will be justice for the mother dog and all her puppies.
